Synopsis: After his father T'Chaka dies, Prince T'Challa returns to the technologically advanced, hidden African nation of Wakanda to be crowned king and take up the mantle of the Black Panther—enhanced by a heart-shaped herb that grants superhuman abilities. When Erik Killmonger, a Wakandan exile with a tragic past, arrives in Wakanda, he challenges T'Challa for the throne in a ritual combat. Killmonger defeats T'Challa and assumes control, planning to use Wakanda’s advanced weapons to empower oppressed people around the world through force. Presumed dead, T'Challa is rescued by his allies and uses a synthetic heart-shaped herb to regain his powers. He returns to Wakanda to stop Killmonger, who ultimately chooses death over capture rather than see his vision fail. T'Challa then opens Wakanda to the world, establishing outreach centers to share its technology and wisdom.
